Browse the Web Faster on a Slow Internet Connection

Browse the Web faster: If userr current Internet speed is very slow and user are living in an area where broadband connections are still not available, here are some tips and tricks to help user get web pages faster on userr computer.

If userr current Internet speed is very slow and user are living in an area where broadband connections are still not available, here are some ideas to help user get web pages faster on userr computer. You may use the same tips to  improve userr web browsing experience on a sluggish USB modem.

Surf the Web Faster on Slow Internet

1. Turn off web images, the Adobe Flash plug-in, Java Applets and JavaScript from userr browser settings as these files are often the bulkiest elements of any web page.
2. Increase the size of userr browser cache. If the static parts of a site (like background graphics, CSS, etc) are stored in the local cache, userr browser can safely skip geting these files when user re-visit the site in future thus improving speed.
3. Sometimes the slow DNS server of userr ISP can be a bottleneck so switch to OpenDNS as it can resolve website URLs into IP addresses more quickly. If user aren’t too happy about OpenDNS redirecting userr Google queries, follow this simple hack.
4. Finch can serve a light-weight version of any website in real-time that is free of all bells and whistles. For instance, the New York Times homepage with all external resources can weigh more than a MB but Finch trims down the size by 90% so the site loads more quickly on a slow web connection.
5. Flinch (mentioned at #4) is good for reading regular websites but if user just need to check the latest articles published on userr favorite blogs, use BareSite. This service will automatically detect the associated feed of a website and render content quickly inside a minimalist interface.
6. The Google Transcoder service at google.com/gwt/n can split large web pages into smaller chunks that will get more quickly on userr computer (or mobile phone).
7. Monitor userr Internet speed to determine hours when user get the maximum get speed from the ISP. Maybe user can then change userr surfing schedule a bit and browse more during these "off peak" hours.
8. You can use a text browser like Lynx or Elinks for even faster browsing. It gets only the HTML version of web pages thus reducing the overall bandwidth required to render websites.
9. When searching for web pages on Google, user can click the "Cache" link to view the text version of a web page stored in the Google Cache. Alternatively, install this GM script as it adds a "cached text only" link near every "Cached" link on Google Search pages.
10. Move userr web activities offline as far as possible. You can send & receive emails, write blogs and even read feeds in an offline environment.
11.  You can interact with websites like Flickr, Google Docs, Slideshare, etc. using simple email messages. Uploading a new document to Google Docs via email would require less bandwidth than doing it in the browser because user are avoiding a trip to the Google Docs website.
12. Applying the same logic, user may also consider using tools like Web In Mail or Email The Web as they help user browse websites via email. Just put the URL of a page (e.g., cnn.com) in the subject field of userr email message and these services will send user the actual page in the reply.
13. Bookmarklets are like shortcuts to userr favorite web services. You neither have to open the Gmail Inbox for composing a new email message nor do user have to visit Google Translate for translating a paragraph of text. Add relevant bookmarklets to userr browser bar and reduce the number of steps required to accomplish a task.
14. Use the netstat command to determine processes, other than web browsers, that may be secretly connecting to Internet in the background. Some of these processes could be consuming precious bandwidth but user can block them using the Firewall.
15. Use URL Snooper to determine non-essential host names that a website is trying to connect while geting a web page. You may block them in future via the hosts file or use Adblock Plus to filter out advertising banners on web pages.
16. If user don’t want to spoil userr web surfing experience by stripping images and other graphic elements from  a web page, get Opera Turbo. It will first fetch the requested web page on to its own server and then send it to userr machine in a compressed format. Opera Turbo won’t change the lausert of a web site but can lower the image resolution so that they load faster on slow Internet.
17. Change the user agent of userr desktop browser to that of a mobile phone like Apple’s iPhone or Windows Mobile. This will help user browse certain web sites like Google News, WSJ, etc. much faster because they’ll serve user a light-weight and less cluttered mobile version of their sites thinking user’re on a mobile phone.

The Benefits Of Architecture Project Management Software

By Jeannie Chapman

Any professional services firm needs to effectively and efficiently manage resources. This is especially true in architectural firms where multiple projects involve both the staff, outside contractors and clients. Unfortunately many managers are not as effective as they could be because they rely on a pieced together system for management. That is where architecture project management software can help significantly, and add to a firms profitability.

Many firms piece together email, generic pm programs, spreadsheets, documents and a shared drive to manage things. And while this will get you by, you will not be best utilizing resources. Specifically designed architecture project management software blends together all the key components of the these programs into one easy to use interface. Since it is designed with architects in mind, the workflow, terminology and reporting are all tailored to the industry so there is little downtime in switching to the system.

The benefits of using a program dedicated to architectural projects are many. First and foremost is the software does not need to be adapted to the practice. Templates, reports, terminology and such are all architectural related. These programs have been developed by those with an intimate knowledge of the process, which makes using the system relatively simple and intuitive.

The basis of all good software is to organize, coordinate and manage the teams tasks, deliverables and workload. These programs offer a variety of features to make this easy. Project managers can plan all aspects of the project with a simple interface, entering tasks, dependencies, resources, time and other important components. Once entered these programs generally use Gantt chart-type reporting to get a visual look at a project.

Resource tracking and utilization is important aspect of managing projects and this type of software makes this task relatively easy. Reports can be generated at the employee level or the task level so you can see how people are spending their time, or conversely how much effort a task is taking. This allows the PM to stay on top of important deadlines and reassign resources as needed.

Another important feature of many of these programs is proposal and contract management. This simplifies the work flow for developing RFPs, submittals and any other key documents. Most allow for collaboration and provide version control so edits and inputs are not lost. This document management extends throughout the work, keeping track of things like addendums, change directives, contract changes, change orders all the way to the punch list.

Ideally all projects go according to plan, but of course this is not always the case. This is where reporting and analysis is important for improving profitability. Architecture project management software allows the PM and senior staff to perform detailed analysis on staffing, budgets and resource allocation. Most have numerous report templates, but customization is generally available too.

Competition today is fierce and unfortunately the most creative firms are not always the most successful. This is often due to less than ideal business processes and the inability to most effectively allocate resources and maintain billability. Architecture project management software takes much of the guesswork out of this process by providing the tools to do things more effectively. If you are not using a comprehensive PM system, you owe it to yourself and your firm to find out more.

Cabal Online – The Revolution Of Action review

Cabal Online

Site: http://www.cabalonline.com/

Cabal Online is a free to play MMORPG* created by ESTsoft. The game is 3D fantasy in an alternative world known as Nevareth.

Requirements:
CPU: Min: Pentium 3 800MHz +....Recommended: Pentium 4 1.4GHz +
RAM: 256MB + .............................Recommended: 512MB +
Graphics Card: 3D accelerator
Sound Card: Any DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Hard disk space: 2GB +

Gameplay
The game is your usual point and click MMORPG centered at fighting mobs. The world of Cabal consists of several zones. A player passes between them through a special dungeon-like passage-chamber. The new players have access only to three of the world zones.

Characters:
- Warrior
The Best Melee Fighter with Unrivalled Strength
Warriors practice physical strength by using force rather than manipulating it.

- Blader
The Deadly Blade Dancer, the Fastest Dual Sword User
Their practice is focused on maximizing physical abilities by
using force, and they prioritize dazzling technique and speed
over destructive power.
Use dual swords.
- Wizard
Ultimate Destroyer, the Ruler of the Force
Wizards invest a lot of effort in intelligence in order to efficiently control Force. At the same time, they do not possess much physical strength or agility.

- Force Archer
The Sniper Fires Deadly Force Shots
that Cut through the Wind
Among the three independent combat skills, "Force Archers"
originated from the Wizard group. They realized the potential of
long-range magic spells, and studied how to intensify the
potency of magic spells. It is common knowledge among
force handlersthat the relation between range and
space is in inverse proportion to the one between space and power.

- Force Shielder
The Faithful Warrior that Uses the Force to Shield Others
Force Shielders specialize in short-range force control, which means that
they are incapable of doing long-range attacks. However, they make up for this
weakness by developing supporting magic spells which increase their attack strength by manipulating outer forces near their bodies. Its these methods which match those of the Wizards strongest asset.

- Force Blader
A Swordsman whose Blade Flares with the Force
Since Force Bladers must be equally skillful in fencing and magic, they try to keep balance their practice in physical strength and intelligence. Although there are not yet many Magic Sword Skills introduced, still Force Bladers can use joint sword and magic skills.

Available: PVP, PK, Guild Wars, Nation Battles

Shipping Five ScopeRoller Orders In The Morning

I hope my jumbo mailbox is big enough.

Partly this was because I was waiting for a big box of 5" casters to show up -- but it is still a lot of orders to come in over a two week period.

Meet Kenyan pastor that can check for your name in the book of life

With just Sh1 200 (N3 000) Bishop Thomas Wahome of Helicopter ministries claims he can contact God on your behalf to check if your name is in the book of life.

In 2012, pastor Wahome was charging  Sh 1,200 (N3 000) to anyone who wanted to touch his garment- like that woman who touched Jesus’ clothes in Mark 5:21-34. Wahome also claimed that people who touched his clothes got instant healing from whatever disease.

And now, he has devised a new con game. Its called “Check whether your name is the book of life”. Wahome claims that if you give him Sh 1,500, he can actually ask God whether you are among those people who will go to heaven. He claims that he has a direct line to God and he can communicate with him directly.

InfoBuddie thinks Nigerians need to pay this man a visit. LOL!

Finishing the trimmings!

Voxys chrome trimmings, like most of whats in her, were neglected, faded and rusted. Time to turn my attention to them.

As you can see, the chrome covers of her front signal lights not only lost their shine but has rust all over it.
Take note that these are made of  plastic - how neglected were they that they finally gave in to rust. Based on my forensic investigation (hehe) - heres what happened - The covers lost their shine first, were then roughened by the forces of nature, got molds, then were finally invaded by rust. How long was voxy in solitude? When was the last time her previous owner gave her some TLC? :( I see now that I got this bug for a purpose, so that someone could take care of her :) Dont you think we were meant to be? :)

Cleaned the covers and the lens with some soap and water.

Sanded the old chrome in preparation for some metallic silver paint - Having them chromed will burn a hole in my pockets :) God willing,  I will have them chromed in the future but for now, the silver paint will do :)

While waiting for the paint to dry, decided to assemble the tail light.

Got a new tail lightassembly from Nardos VW supply. The assembly and the housing are held together by 4 small bolts. Got them for 700 each, relatively cheaper as they were made in brazil. I hope the lens can withstand years of rain and shine. :)

TIP: I very practical trick I got from Ate Cora (Mang Nardos Wife) is to replace the rubber trimmings of the tail lights and signal lights with fuel hose instead of buying replacement rubbers. According to them, they not only last longer(resistant to cracking), they are way cheaper. My hats off to this couple - they are not too profit oriented :)

You need to splice off the hose in order to fit it around the tail light and signal lights. Once they are attached to the bug, they look pretty good! :)

Finally, the covers are dry - heres how they look like. Although far from the bling bling of chrome, it is equally as far from its costs.

Did the same on the headlights - nice.. :)

I have already removed the newspapers covering the windshields and the windows and discovered major problems :( Find out about them on my next post!

The Chub Revisited

Since my post about building the Chub seems to be the most popular one on my blog -- it has 900+ views, 200 more than the nearest other topic -- I figured Id take a look at more of the ways people have been customizing this frame.

Wilson Industries Chub Company by Carbonbass.  Hes actually added knees to the design!

"Purity" Ijad Chub by True Mortality.  This one has a great use of color.

ST-07 SLC "Fat Snake" by MittenNinja.  A change of the feet and a slight reskin really changes the look of this Chub mod.

ST-07 Xyston Custom by XGundam05.  I really like that shield.

ST07 Chub, X Variant by Ced23Ric.  Look at those rocket launchers!

ST-19 "Reaver" by LowestFormOfWit.  A great use of color really sets this pair apart.

Aqua Chub by gatlinggouf927.  Look at those Trans-Green pieces!

ST-XO "Pizazz" by LowestFormOfWit.  A great use of Friends parts to make this Chub.

31st Orion Militia Salvaged Chubs by MittenNinja.  Another good looking set of Chubs by MittenNinja.

"Ares" by KyanosMoros.  A lot of Gundam influence here.

The Black Comet by me.  Hey, you cant expect me to pass up an opportunity to toot my own horn!
